The “Fair Pay Commission” just handed down it’s first decision, an extra $27 per week for minimum-wage earners. Unions were aiming at $30, businesses wanted a paltry $14. Of course business argues this is bad news, interest rates are almost certain to rise. And the Howard Government had previously argued against unions proposed $30 a week increase. Of course this doesn’t deal with let WorkChoices off the hook.
