Victorian’s our chance to vote is coming. Be ready November 25th to make your voice heard. For an interesting bit of background on the upcoming election check out WikiPedia, and make sure to pay attention to news, websites and everything else so that your choice is informed.
One tip that I think is really important is not to put a one next to either of the major parties. It’s a bit of a waste of a vote if you ask me. By putting an independent or minor party first you effectively double your vote and help to keep politics interesting by putting some new faces and voices on Spring St. The Greens have a site explaining how it works, and it doesn’t just apply to voting Greens. So you can easily send a message this election, just find at least one minor party or independent running in your electorate (follow that link to find parties running that you can vote for, and check out the VEC site to find out what electorate you are in).
As far as my vote is concerned, I think People Power’s anti-gambling policy is looking good, a dash of Greens to keep Labor on edge about environmental policies, ALP to make sure the Libs don’t get to dam the Maribyrnong!
Any thoughts as to justice-outcomes for this election? I think it’s pretty clear ALP will win, so hopefully some of the little parties will get their feet in the door.
