Three games dealing with global issues. UNICEF’s Cost of Life, an interesting simulation of a life of poverty. September 12th from Newsgaming, more of a simulation then game. And 3rd World Farmer, a simulation of a poverty-stricken African farmer.
All of these games are really hard (which I suppose is part of the point). Cost of Life is fun, a nice way to get kids/people thinking about what some people are forced to live on and how hard life is for the global majority - it even comes with lesson plans for teachers. September 12th is a brilliant concept that drives home “violence begets violence”, very relevant. 3rd World Farmer is a stark simulation without the life of the other two, along similar lines to Cost of Life - but not quite as fun to play.
