Fuel Follow-up: BP and Helios House

Following up my post on some ethical variables and petrol service stations, I found this interesting post on Metroblogging. It seems BP is launching some sort of “ethical petrol station” (?). At the moment it seems like just a lot of greenwashing, but it will be interested to see how this goes. One thing that would be a good idea is to have an optional carbon offset price right at the pump to allow consumers to offset their impact right at the point of purchase. This could also act as an incentive to fill in less both morally and economically - if you can directly see the impact each litre of fuel has. I’d love to see this happen.
