This Opinio Juris post on when “universal norms collide” is interesting. How do we balance the inherent tension in the UDHR? Freedom of expression vs freedom from attacks on honour and reputation. Art 28 v Art 29. Protection of property vs a social security net. Is there a hierarchy of rights? How do we decide which rights trump the others? They are of course meant to be interconnected and all essential for the preservation of the others.
