Africa, Trade and the “bottom billions”

Kim Elliot has an interesting post over at CGDev on the impact of trade on the “bottom billions”. Particularly of interest, for me, was the impact of the US’s African Growth and Opportunity Act, which opened up some apparel markets for African nations, and the subsequent impact of China being given access to the same markets. Of course what most African nations really need is freer agricultural trade - something the US has been much to recalcitrant in giving.
