There’s a really interesting research project going on at the Cline Center called Event Analysis. They are digitising, classifying and coding over 30 million news reports from across the globe going back to 1946 to increase the amount of quantitative information out there for social scientists. It sounds very impressive, I can’t wait until it’s done.
