International law has failed at Kosovo

Opinio Juris has some good comments on Kosovo an international law. It’s a tough tension between protecting minorities (through secession) and encouraging pluralistic respectful societies. I prefer a trend to amalgamation as opposed to dissecting countries into their ethnic constituencies as new nations.
