Problems with the CDM market

Things aren’t looking good for the clean development mechanism, it’s make or break time according to the Economist. “But the same report says the value of new projects under the CDM will barely grow this year, halve next year, and shrink to almost zero by 2010.” There’s some calls for looser regulation of the scheme - but I doubt that (a) that’s politically feasible or (b) in the best interests of the environment.
