Daniel Davies has a great post on the
relationship between debt and corruption over at the Guardian. His theory is that the large amounts of debt are leading to corrupt government. Another good reason to drop the debt.

I got along to the Make Poverty History forum today and boy was it worth it! What an experience. There were so many qualified speakers, just check out the website it was incredible. And free. I’ll try and get round to doing some write ups on what I saw/learned and I’m trying to get a friend of mine to give his learned opinion so that would be nice if we could another perspective.
Anyhow, you really missed out if you didn’t get along - once in a lifetime sort of opportunity. We heard about everything from trade, to debt, to aid, and a whole heap on climate change. There was an international line up, with people from South Africa, the Philippines and Zambia speaking. Really top quality speakers too (I heart Brett Inder:)). I was heartily impressed with the forum, the Make Poverty History guys did a great job.
