Gourmet has a must read
article on the truth behind Kobe Beef. I was under the impression this was some of the best (ie. most well treated) animal meat you could buy, obviously I was mistaken.

Brilliant post on IELP on how sometimes
importing food may be better for the environment. Though maybe the point is if you live in certain places you shouldn’t be eating certain foods?

This documentary, coming out in
2008, looks quite good. Tony found out about the the slave labour implicated in a lot of cocoa production and decided to hand himself to the state prosecutor for buying chocolate that he knew was involved in criminal activities. He then travelled to Africa to get testimony from former slaves and started his own “slave free” chocolate line.
