Gourmet has a must read
article on the truth behind Kobe Beef. I was under the impression this was some of the best (ie. most well treated) animal meat you could buy, obviously I was mistaken.

It’s February and uni is about to being. After being disappointed or elated by your VCE ENTER results, the reality is probably now only sinking in.
I’m now in my 5th year of an Arts/Law degree at Melbourne University and looking back there are some things that I wish someone had told me when I was just starting out. My wife and I are on the way home from the Organic Expo at the moment and am happily amazed at how fantastic it was. Heaps of stalls and presenters, thousands of people walking through, it was a eco-justice lover dream expo experience. For $15 entry fee we got access to thousands of different products ranging from cheese to chocolate, nappies to nightgowns, hand cream to herbs - and everything in between. We spent hours just browsing the stalls, trying free samples (Cocolo’s mint chocolate is super yummy!) and talking to the stall owners. I’ll be posting more posts later hopefully on some of the great finds there, but for now here are some of the pics I snapped while there. Enjoy and if you get the chance I would highly recommend you attend tomorrow or next year.

Just got the
email from
the 100 Mile Cafe in Melbourne Central, they are open for business! Looks pretty slick, can’t wait to go visit. The
menu is a bit pricy, but it shows the average miles of each dish - neat idea.
